(1) Describe a picture. Bob and Mary. My name is Bob. My school is not near my home, I go to school on foot, then by boat, and then by bike.
(2) Now let’s read the dialogue and find out how Sarah goes to the park. Can you draw the route on your paper? Ss read in pairs and the teacher help them to draw the route.
(3) The teacher demonstrates the route drew by the Ss and describe Sarah’s route to the park: “First, Sarah can go to Zhang Peng’s home by bike. Next, Sarah and Zhang Peng go to the bus stop on foot. Then they can go to the park by bus. Write the words: first, next, then on the board and read.
(4) Ss read the dialogue and finish the exercise.
(5) Listen-repeat-read.
(6) Read in pairs.

(1) The teacher points to the light: I like the lights because I can see things clearly at night. Can we see lights in different colours in our city? Yes, Neon light, traffic lights …
(2) Draw three lights in red, yellow, green. T: We have red, yellow, green lights. We call them traffic lights. Write the phrase: traffic lights on the board. T: What do they mean, do you know? Encourage the Ss to tell about them. T: When do we stop/wait/go? Help the Ss to say: We stop at red light. We wait at yellow light. We go at green light.
(3) Show the traffic lights and do the actions in different colours. It is a green light. I can go. Go-go-go. It is a yellow light. I must wait. Wait-wait-wait! I can go in a moment. The light is red, can I go? No, no, no! It’s dangerous! I must stop. Stop-stop-stop.
(4) Write the words “stop, wait, go” besides their the colours and help the Ss to make differences between.
(5) Let’s play. Look at the lights and do the actions according to the coulours.
(6) What does ‘traffic rules’ mean? Write the phrase “traffic rule” on the board and explain it. Learn the sentences: Stop at a red light. Wait at a yellow light. Go at a green light.
(7) Listen to the tape and repeat.
